When the Pokémon company was looking for a company who could help them with distribution when they expanded outside of Japan, no other company in the trading card hobby stood out as much as Wizards of the Coast. To prepare for their meeting, WOTC took an image from the original Gameboy game, Pokemon Blue. This image was the main character Blastoise. They printed four different Blastoise cards to present to the Pokémon executives at their meeting. At this time, the design for the back of the card had not been created yet, so they printed these very first prototypes with the Magic The Gathering backs. Altogether, there were only four of these that they printed to present to the Pokémon executives. This is one of the first four English language Pokémon cards ever made! It is now officially the only example authenticated by PSA!
1ST ENGLISH CARD!
After successfully authenticating this card with PSA, it was much easier to have this card appraised. The #1 Pokémon card auction in the world, valued this between $300-350k and also offered us a cash advance of $150,000 if we were to consign this to auction. They offer between 40% to 50% of what they believe that’s a card will sell for and then pay the difference at the end of the auction. The remaining cards are valued at about $60k.
We have also included a complete set of PSA 10 Shiny Eeveelutions from Hidden Fates as well as 3 Black Labels from 151, the most popular set of the Scarlet Violet era. We have also included some very rare promo cards as well as the rarest English booster pack and the rarest Japanese booster pack.
